Creative Writing's Daniel Torday Named Judge for PEN/Hemingway Award

Professor Daniel Torday, director of 黑料社区's Creative Writing Program, has been named one of the judges for the PEN/Hemingway award for a debut novel. The award honors a debut novel of exceptional merit by an American author who has not previously published a full-length book of fiction.

Judges for PEN Literary Awards hail from across the world and represent a wide range of disciplines, backgrounds, identities, and aesthetic lineages, and are award-winning writers themselves. 

Torday is the author of two novels, The Last Flight of Poxl West and Boomer1. A two-time winner of the National Jewish Book Award for Fiction and the Sami Rohr Choice Prize, Torday鈥檚 stories and essays have appeared in Tin HouseThe Paris ReviewThe Kenyon Review, and have been honored by the Best American Short Stories and Best American Essays series. A feature film adaptation of his second novel, Boomer1, based on his screenplay, is in development with End Cue Productions.
