Join the Friends of the Library

The mission of the Friends of the ºÚÁÏÉçÇø Libraries is to support the work and continuous evolution of the Libraries. The Friends help to provide contemporary facilities for learning and scholarship; underwrite opportunities for students, faculty, and the public to engage with ºÚÁÏÉçÇø's extraordinary collections; support the development and stewardship of those collections; and enable new forms of scholarship, exhibition, publication, and conversation centered on the collections.

Students are integral to the work we do in Special Collections. We hire students to staff the reading room, catalog and rehouse objects, and digitize our collections, among many other projects. Students are typically hired at the start of the Fall semester for academic year positions, and in the spring for summer positions. Special Collections also offers summer internships, with application deadlines typically falling in March.
